The effects of plastic - production, use, and disposal - on human health are manifold and still being researched. During production, toxic substances are released into the air and water. In the process more are added as additives that gradually escape plastic products during their lifespan and accumulate in food, water, air, soil, and human bodies. Disposed or incinerated plastic emits further toxins that endanger our health.
